Google says budget-limited campaigns using Target CPA, Target ROAS, or Demand Gen Target CPC will follow their stated targets more closely after August 17. A campaign that has been beating a looser target can move toward that target if the advertiser does nothing.
For: Search, Shopping, Performance Max, Demand Gen, and eligible Travel advertisers with campaigns that have been limited by budget.
Compare every stated target with recent actual CPA or ROAS before August 17. Export the current settings and results, then wait one to two conversion cycles before judging the post-change account.
Shopify says changing an unfulfilled order's shipping address through the orderUpdate GraphQL mutation will also recalculate destination tax data starting August 31.
For: Shopify apps and workflows that update shipping addresses and pass order totals to support, ERP, accounting, or fulfillment systems.
Find every integration that changes shipping addresses. In a test order, re-query tax lines and totals after the change and confirm downstream systems do not restore the old values.
Search Engine Land reports an observed Shopping and Product ad test that adds AI-generated descriptions. Google had confirmed a related small experiment on sponsored Search results earlier in July.
For: Retail advertisers whose Shopping or Product ads appear in the observed experiment.
Treat this as a monitored test. Check live queries and account diagnostics, capture any generated description, and compare it with the feed, price, availability, claims, and landing page.
Google says selected U.S. home and storefront service advertisers will begin moving in August 2026 from the standalone Local Services Ads dashboard to Performance Max campaigns with pay-per-lead goals. Broader groups follow later in 2026 and 2027.
For: Selected U.S. plumbers, HVAC companies, electricians, roofers, movers, cleaners, pest-control companies, landscapers, appliance-repair businesses, and other local service advertisers.
Confirm the account administrator email, watch for the 14-day migration notice, and export historical performance reports before the old dashboard closes. Save the current service areas, schedule, categories, budget, bidding settings, and cost-per-qualified-lead baseline.
Starting August 10, 2026, Shopify says eligible new partner deals will pay 20% of subscription revenue and 0.1% of eligible online GMV for four years. Existing launched merchants keep their current payout structure.
For: Shopify partners referring or transferring new stores on or after August 10. Shopify did not announce a direct merchant price change in this update.
Update referral economics and client disclosures before the deadline. Keep platform compensation separate from the recommendation a merchant receives, and confirm deal eligibility before forecasting revenue.
Google expanded Demand Gen Checkout Links to nine more markets and says its updated Target ROAS path is designed to reach targets faster instead of remaining overly cautious early in a campaign.
For: Retail advertisers using Demand Gen, product feeds, YouTube, or direct-to-checkout campaign paths.
Validate market eligibility, the checkout URL, product mapping, profit-aware conversion value, order attribution, and cancellation or return quality before shortening the purchase path.
Shopify says WhatsApp marketing is now part of Shopify Messaging, giving eligible merchants another owned channel alongside email and SMS.
For: Shopify merchants in eligible regions that want to use WhatsApp for marketing.
Map consent, suppression, frequency, reply handling, cost, and attribution before importing an audience or copying an email or SMS campaign into WhatsApp.

OpenAI now documents an oCPC objective that optimizes toward one selected standard conversion event. Billing remains per valid click, and the objective and event cannot be changed after campaign creation.
For: Advertisers with ChatGPT Ads access, working conversion tracking, and a supported standard event tied to a useful business action.
Confirm that the selected event fires correctly, represents a valuable outcome, and reconciles with the final business record before creating an oCPC campaign.
Jon Loomer documents an Advantage+ Creative option that uses an advertiser's image as a template and replaces the main headline text while preserving much of the design.
For: Meta advertisers using Advantage+ Creative text generation with text embedded in image assets.
Verify availability in the account. Preview every placement and remove generated variants that change an approved claim, required language, brand tone, or visual hierarchy.

OpenAI now documents campaign inclusion, campaign exclusion, and ad-group bid multipliers for customer or prospect lists. The platform floor is 25,000 matched users, with 100,000 or more recommended.
For: Larger advertisers with enough first-party identifiers to build a ready ChatGPT Ads custom audience.
Separate lifecycle groups, exclusions, permitted use, audience ownership, and the business outcome before uploading a list or changing a bid.
Eligible Shopify Payments merchants can now add one bank account for every supported payout currency instead of stopping at eight.
For: International Shopify merchants receiving customer payments and paying suppliers, staff, or taxes in several currencies.
Compare payout fees, bank fees, supplier currencies, tax obligations, and conversion exposure before adding accounts. Reconcile the first payout before changing cash assumptions.

Google says AI Max is making more complex and conversational searches eligible for ads. The added reach needs a query, landing-page, creative, conversion-value, and revenue check before budget expands.
For: Businesses using Google Search campaigns, broad match, generated assets, or Final URL expansion.
Compare the new queries and landing pages with qualified leads, purchases, revenue, and profit. Do not use Google's advertising growth as your account result.
WooCommerce says United Kingdom merchants can browse the catalog, build a cart, accept Tap to Pay, card-reader, or cash payments, and sync the sale from an iPhone.
For: United Kingdom WooCommerce merchants using iOS 26 or later and WooPayments or Stripe for card payments.
Run a controlled sale and refund across each accepted payment type, then reconcile inventory, tax, payment, receipt, staff permission, and order records.
Amazon Ads says advertisers can use audiences from Ads Data Manager as optimization signals in Brand+ and Performance+. The audiences guide the model but do not act as hard targeting restrictions.
For: Amazon Ads teams using Brand+ or Performance+ with usable first-party audience data.
Define audience purpose, exclusions, consent, and the success measure before activation. Report acquisition, remarketing, and retention outcomes separately.
BigCommerce says GraphQL-created webhooks can filter events by payload values, and webhook delivery can use Amazon EventBridge or Google Cloud Pub/Sub in addition to HTTPS.
For: BigCommerce stores and app teams processing high-volume order, catalog, customer, or metafield events.
Choose one low-risk event stream, replay included and excluded events, measure duplicate and failed delivery handling, and keep a rollback path to the existing endpoint.

adidas entered the final on both shirts and built one campaign around both teams. Spain paired its Why not? message with accumulated performance proof. Together, the moves show how to own a live event without depending on one scoreline.
For: Brand leaders, sponsors, agencies, and businesses planning event-driven campaigns around outcomes they do not control.
Write the brand win condition before the event, prepare approved response branches for every result, and attach each live asset to one business action.

OpenAI now documents CPC buying, conversion measurement, Pixel and Conversions API paths, and reporting limits. The first test needs an evidence plan before it needs more budget.
For: Businesses considering ChatGPT Ads in currently supported countries and categories.
Confirm eligibility, landing-page access, exact event matching, static UTMs, reporting delay, and the downstream business outcome before launch.

Google is adding a How this ad was made panel across Search, YouTube, and Discover. Google-created assets can be labeled automatically. Advertisers can disclose AI work created elsewhere.
For: Advertisers using generative AI for images, video, or copy.
Record which creative used AI, who approved it, and whether a disclosure control appears in the account.

A new diagnostics view is being reported for missing or disapproved assets that can restrict channel delivery in Performance Max.
For: Businesses running Performance Max across multiple Google channels.
Look for channel diagnostics before changing bids or budgets. Asset eligibility can be the constraint.

Google says Demand Gen will add more aspect-ratio transformations and Gemini recommendations while advertisers choose image and video assets.
For: Advertisers using Demand Gen on YouTube and other Google surfaces.
Review generated crops before launch. Confirm that the first frame, product, offer, and required text survive every format.
Jon Loomer reports appointment booking from instant forms alongside other conversion updates. Availability can vary by account.
For: Lead-generation advertisers using Meta instant forms.
Verify availability inside the account. Test qualification, calendar ownership, reminders, and CRM handoff before sending traffic.

Google says offline conversion imports and enhanced conversions for leads now use its current Data Manager path. Older upload implementations can stop providing the downstream qualified-lead signal that bidding and reporting depend on.
For: Lead-generation advertisers importing qualified leads, converted leads, appointments, contracts, or other offline outcomes into Google Ads.
Confirm that recent downstream outcomes appear under the intended conversion action, that the upload path is current, and that calls or forms are not being treated as the final business result.

Meta says business activity data already used for ads can also personalize Feed and Meta AI responses. The company is retiring one disconnect setting and expanding another usage control as the change begins in July.
For: Businesses sending website, app, purchase, or lead activity to Meta through Pixel, Conversions API, SDK, or partner connections.
Save a dated July baseline for audiences and reporting, confirm which events the business sends, and review consent and privacy language with the appropriate legal owner.

Shopify says Rollouts can launch, gradually release, or A/B test themes plus checkout and customer-account configurations.
For: Shopify teams changing themes, checkout, or customer account experiences.
Use a written success metric and rollback rule. Do not call a visual preference an A/B test result.

Meta says its Business Agent can answer business questions, recommend products, book appointments, qualify leads, and hand conversations to staff.
For: Businesses receiving inquiries through Instagram, Messenger, or WhatsApp.
Define the questions automation may answer, the point where a person takes over, and how qualified inquiries reach the sales process.
