Where the rollout is happening

Google is expanding ads in AI Mode to Australia, Canada, India, Kenya, Malaysia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Philippines and Singapore. The October 28 announcement also introduces ads in follow-up queries in the US.

Brazil, Mexico and the United Kingdom are on the company’s Q4 plan. Keep those planned markets separate from the ten named in the current expansion. Ads retain a Sponsored label.

A longer conversation still needs a useful destination

For a business buying search traffic, the practical question is what happens after the click. Someone comparing options in a follow-up question may need a different level of detail from someone already looking for a specific product.

Our recommendation is to check the landing page against the buying questions it can actually answer: availability, suitability, price where appropriate, and the next step. A broader placement announcement is not a reason to send every visitor to the homepage.

Keep the measurement claim narrow

Review the reporting available in your own account before labeling results as AI Mode performance. If the report does not isolate a placement, do not infer that placement from a change in total campaign results.

Record the current campaign settings and conversion definitions before making changes. Evaluate qualified enquiries or completed purchases alongside spend; the announcement alone does not justify a larger budget.

What to check next

  1. Check which of your target countries are in the announced rollout.
  2. Confirm current campaign eligibility and reporting in Google Ads.
  3. Review destination pages for the questions a buyer needs answered.
  4. Separate announced availability from observed impressions, clicks and sales.

Sources and scope

Google announced the expansion on October 28. Brazil, Mexico and the UK are planned for Q4, not confirmed live by this announcement. A rollout announcement does not prove delivery in a particular advertiser account.

The announcement is confirmed by the source below. Practical checks in this article are Stan Consulting's recommendations.
