Meta now has a channel setting in Shopify admin
Shopify added Meta beside its other AI channels in Agentic Storefronts on September 8. The admin now shows Meta performance and gives the merchant controls for Shopify Catalog access and direct checkout.
Shopify says products are shared with Meta by default through Shopify Catalog. That makes the first task a review of the existing setting and catalog, not a new connection built from scratch.
Default sharing deserves a catalog check
A product being eligible for an AI channel does not mean its title, price, image, availability, or policy copy is ready for that surface. Inspect a representative set of products before accepting the default as the finished setup.
Our recommendation: compare the catalog record with the live product page. Fix source data in Shopify where possible so the store, feeds, and AI channels do not carry separate versions of the same product.
Channel reporting still needs a baseline
The new performance view can show activity attributed to Meta in the agentic settings. Save a baseline before changing catalog or checkout access so later movement has a clear starting point.
Keep exposure, visits, checkout starts, and completed orders as separate measures. Shopify's announcement adds a channel and controls. It does not establish that the channel has produced a sale.

What to check next
- Open Agentic Storefronts and record Meta's current access settings.
- Review the products Shopify Catalog is sharing with Meta.
- Check titles, prices, images, availability, and policy details on sample products.
- Confirm whether direct checkout is available and appropriate for the store.
- Save a baseline for Meta activity before changing access or product data.
Sources and scope
Shopify announced the admin channel and default product sharing through Shopify Catalog. The changelog does not promise traffic, sales, or immediate direct-checkout availability for every store or market.
The announcement is confirmed by the source below. Practical checks in this article are Stan Consulting's recommendations.
